Health and safety of aerogel insulation

Aerogel is a synthetic amorphous silica gel (obviously different from crystalline silica gel), impregnated in non-woven flexible blanket, with extremely high thermal performance and easy to install flexible form.Each product has a different fabric material to meet the application requirements.

The thermal insulation of aerogel is obtained by leaving pores in the nanoscale aerogel after silica gel is dried.This innovation defines the nanotechnological properties of aerogel insulation.Aerogel insulation does not produce or involve nanoparticles and therefore does not pose any health or safety risks.

Aerogel insulation is environmentally friendly, and SHA, EPA and OECD have conducted extensive research concluding that it "does not affect human health."

As with other products that may produce airborne particles, use of aerogel blankets should take into account the general conditions of personal protective equipment - paper masks, work gloves and safety glasses are standard recommendations.
